NLMK unit Altai-Koks develops technology of foundry coke
MOSCOW, Dec 16 (PRIME) -- Altai-Koks, part of Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK), has developed a technology to produce foundry coking coal of 100 millimeters and more, NLMK said in a statement on Monday.
“Development of this product will allow the company to extend the sales markets by imports replacement. Producers of heat insulators earlier bought 100 millimeter-class coking coal on the European market. The first 800 tonne batch was dispatched to producers of heat and sound insulators,” the company said.
Production of this type of coking coal is planned at 7,000 tonnes per year.
